New Grand Prix Horse for Hilltop Farm

Dreams do come true! Jane MacElree, owner of Hilltop Farm, has always wanted an international Grand Prix horse to represent Hilltop Farm in competition. While spending time competing in Germany this winter, Hilltop Farm's Head Trainer Chris Hickey, found the ideal candidate. Douglas S (Dr Jackson – Walt Disney) is a 9 year old, 16.3 hand Badden Wurttemberg gelding who had shown at the FEI levels under owner Alexandra Sessler.
"I knew from the first ride that Douglas was the horse for me. He gives a wonderful feeling and has so much expression to be developed. He takes the training well even though he is an electric type horse," say Hickey. "I feel lucky to have found a horse that is trained in the same system that I use. Alex and I both ride with Ulla Salzgeber and this makes the transition to a new rider so much easier for the horse."
Ulla was actually the first to share the news of Hilltop Farm's new purchase when she spoke with reporters after the Exquis World Dressage Masters show in Munich, Germany. "The horse is extraordinarily good and they will make an excellent team."
Jane met Douglas as he arrived at Hilltop Farm from quarantine. "Watching Chris and Douglas during their first ride at the farm gave me goosebumps. It is thrilling to have Douglas in our barn and we are looking forward to a wonderful future with him. The sky's the limit."
